In February 2026, BRIC NS established the BRIC NS Advisory Council to support the achievement of our network’s objectives. Members represent diverse health system perspectives from across Nova Scotia, including providers, leaders and decision-makers, researchers, learners, community, public, and digital health professionals.
The BRIC NS Advisory Council:
- Advises on new and emerging research priorities & other issues raised by BRIC NS membership
- Discusses current topics and challenges related to primary care research and provides updates on research initiatives and opportunities with their network
- Identifies relevant partnerships and collaborations
- Promotes BRIC NS network and initiatives to relevant academic groups, research teams, communities, and groups
- Supports and provides guidance on communication and knowledge translation workplans
BRIC NS holds biannual virtual meetings with the Advisory Council, with email updates in between. Prior to each meeting we circulate materials so that members can opt in or out based on their interest in the specific topics of discussion. During meetings the BRIC NS team briefly updates the Advisory Council on work within our network. Advisory Council members also share strategic and contextual feedback and insight to help inform BRIC NS priorities and initiatives.
The BRIC NS Advisory Council works in parallel with our Patient Advisory Council to ensure primary care research reflects real‑world experiences, priorities, and needs.
