Thank you for your interest in presenting a poster or an oral presentation at Primary Care Research Day, taking place on May 3rd, 2027, at the Student Union Building (SUB) on the Dalhousie University campus in Halifax, NS.
We invite patient partners, students and health professions learners, clinicians, researchers, service planners, and policy makers to share their research and quality improvement initiatives.
The theme of this year’s Primary Care Research Day is “Making the Dream Work: Optimizing Team-Based & Interprofessional Primary Care.” While we encourage submissions related to this theme, we welcome all abstracts related to primary care. If your project includes a patient or public engagement component, we encourage you to highlight this in your submission.
Guidelines
Abstracts may be up to 300 words, and should include the following sections:
- Introduction
- Purpose
- Methods
- Results
- Implications for future research, policy, and/or practice.
Please provide 2-3 key words to aid our grouping of posters/oral presentations under similar topic areas.
The planning committee encourages the use of plain language in abstracts, as well as in posters and presentations.
If you are a patient partner or member of the public and have an idea for a poster or presentation but are unsure how to get started, please get in touch with the BRIC Manager at bricns@dal.ca
At the time of submission, applicants will be asked to indicate a preference for either an oral presentation or a poster presentation. However, final decisions regarding presentation format will be made by the planning committee.
Student Poster Award: Each year, Primary Care Research Day recognizes an outstanding student poster through the BRIC NS Student Poster Award. Students who wish to be considered for the award will have the opportunity to indicate their interest during the submission process.
Publication of Abstracts: Accepted abstracts may be included in conference proceedings published on the BRIC NS website. Authors who do not wish to have their abstract published may opt out through the submission form.
Review Process
Abstracts will be reviewed by the BRIC NS Primary Care Research Day Planning Committee. Acceptance will be based on overall relevance to primary care in Nova Scotia, the Maritimes, and/or Canada.
