The BRIC NS Student Seminar Series is an opportunity for students across Nova Scotia to share their completed or in-progress research. Presentations cover a wide variety of disciplines, but all address the common thread of primary and integrated healthcare. Everyone is welcome!

Presenter:

Dagje Boeykens is a 4th year PhD student in Health Sciences, with a focus in goal-oriented care in primary healthcare settings. She works under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Pauline Boeckxstaens, Prof Dr. Dominique Van de Velde, and Prof Dr. Patricia De Vriendt​.

BRIC NS success in CIHR competition

BRIC NS is pleased to share the results of the CIHR Knowledge Synthesis and Comparative Program and Policy Analysis competitions.  Integrating end of life care to help people stay in the community: The essentials for success (Knowledge Synthesis) and Integrating Paramedics and Primary and Palliative teams to Optimize Patient Time in the Community at the End-of-Life (Comparative Program and Policy Analysis) are being led by BRIC NS members.

Members in the news: Benchmarks for end-of-life care

Congratulations to NS-PIHCI members Fred Burge and Beverley Lawson, part of the research team looking at Canadian benchmarks for quality of end-of-life care in cancer – named one of the Canadian Cancer Society’s top 10 research stories of 2015. Led by Dr. Lisa Barbera, this multi-province research project looked at provincial variation in health care services for those at the end of life. Benchmarks and quality indicators were established to help evaluate services.
